I have just encountered an interesting variant of the problem described above...
- I had sufficient Avios in my BA account but a 0 balance in my QR account
- I made the booking and entered my card info, at which point I got to a confirmation screen with a PNR, but the message "payment not taken, click here to pay"
- This link would only refresh the manage booking page, so I didn't have an option to pay
- I called QR and the representative took my card over the phone and I was successfully charged
- On my credit card statement, I have 3 charges: 1 for the initial online payment, 1 reversal for the online payment, and 1 for the payment taken over the phone (which has stuck)
- After my card was charged over the phone, I was issued an eTicket number which shows on the website and in the app
- I received confirmed ticket receipts over email
However... in my case, the Avios were never debited. Nothing says the booking is on hold AND I have a ticket number. I have tried moving Avios from BA to QR but I get the error "Something went wrong An error occured. Please try again later."
Should I expect them to debit the Avios later? Because I have an e-Ticket number, am I likely to have problems at check-in or should I leave it and wait?
