I think some people underestimate how much they will need to pay for those few extra inches of space. I remember those CE seats, but I certainly don't miss the crazy prices. Plus, I, personally, am not sure how much comfort that extra space brings. I did a lot of U.S. domestic flying this year, and did PHL-LAX-HNL in economy and HNL-LAX-JFK in first, and to be honest unless it is the "proper" first class with a flat bed, the regular domestic first seat was very uncomfortable and brought very litle comfort/value to me. I am glad I did not pay for the upgrade. The flights are so long that after an hour or two you forget where you are. Yes, as a BA Gold I had acceess to MCE seats, but I do not feel cramped in CE or ET at all. The thought of extra space is nice, but I saw nothing in it.
