The line is Scotrail. It seems to be two routes so offers an array of other destinations in and around the city.
Tickets can be bought on other train operators Apps. But I found using Avanti gave a code requiring a visit to a ticket machine to collect a paper ticket. I tried my Northern App the next day and was provided with a QR code.
