At no point in your enquiry did you mention that you starting point for your trip to Ruse was somewhere other than Bucharest. It's hard to help when the request is so vague.
Let me clarify:
In my original post, I mentioned that rental car prices during my trip seem extremely cheap — under $11/day — and that I’m unfamiliar with companies like "Direct" or "Next," which led me to ask for any insight on those rental providers.
Then, in a separate sentence, I asked whether it’s possible to walk across the border into Ruse — meaning from the Romanian side of the border near Giurgiu into Ruse, Bulgaria — not from Bucharest itself, which would obviously be an unreasonable walking distance. I was referring to crossing on foot from the checkpoint, not trekking from the capital.
My question was simply whether pedestrian border crossing is permitted at that location and whether it’s practical or safe to explore Ruse on foot once across. If you have any experience with that or knowledge of the area, I’d appreciate your input.
Thanks again.
