Due to weather?? FR24 shows it departed early and was almost past the southern tip of Greenland when it hung a 90 degree left and went to EWR. Weather where? June 1 was a beautiful, if slightly chilly, day in the bay area. How did the weather affect only this one flight and why did they divert to EWR of all places? ORD is only 230 miles further from Nuuk than EWR is. Both ORD and DEN would be less out of the way and both can handle a 77W for imigration and servicing no problem. IAD isn't a mess like EWR and would have added very little distance. Very curious.
Could be crew related (despite what United app says) and wouldn’t there be more 77W pilots in EWR than ORD or DEN?
