Currently in a giant one-bedroom corner suite for 4 weeks in the UK (my 5th time actually!). SUAs are priceless to me. I have a Hyatt card and a Chase Sapphire Preferred card so points are easier now too, but SUAs are the world when I have a long term stay like this, and I do. I booked this one a few weeks out. I applied it at booking online.

I noticed that even the Regency Churchill had a standard suite available for booking for a long weekend I was looking (kicked myself for not snatching that up, but was undecided at the time). I have used these all over the world. Aspirational? Not always, but unlike Marriott (Titanium for me) or IHG (Diamond), with Hyatt, they are confirmed at most anywhere that takes them (a LOT of hotels), at booking. Period. I also have a fantastic concierge. Some never use theirs. I cherish mine. Between stays like this one (long term, and a full apartment, basically) and several days at a Park Hyatt, for example, SUAs are something I value more than most things.

I am not a person, however, that enjoys resort properties, beach weather, Florida any time, or Mexico, the Caribbean, et al. If it's cold, I head there, and that lifestyle certainly doesn't hurt either. But planning ahead means if the hotel had suites available, you can confirm, with only a few exceptions.
