Downgrade compensation?

I was booked in SAS Economy Plus, I could book my seats only in rows 1 - 7, I choose two seat in row 7, because that's where I could sit together with my partner. When we got to the plane Economy Plus was only till row 5, so I showed my boarding pass that clearly stated "Sas Plus" and ask for a drink and a snack which been denied to me since I m not seated in Economy Plus.
So what can I do? Is there a way to get some kind of compensation?. I was not the only person effected by this, also the pax in row six complained with no success. To me that was really strange since the purser ignored my boarding pass and said something like "Since there are still free middle seats in EcoPlus I don t believe what you are saying, I don t care about what is stated on your boarding pass"
Anyone has an idea if you can do something here? Specially I felt kind of bad since this was original booked. in business class but I was rerouted on SAS (originally booked on AY) so for me it was kind of a double downgrade. I could use the lounge in Copenhagen with that boarding pass with no problem,
