Walked as a Discoverist- the following occurred:
I was called by the hotel around 1 PM day of arrival to be told this.

1. $50 F&B Certificate valid at hotel I was walked from (had one year expiration)- didn't end up using this but it was a nice gesture
2. Issued 10,000 points (this hotel was a 5,000 point property)
3. Rebooked with a comped night at another hotel nearby, think it was a Radisson property, but had good reviews online (I liked that hotel; it was actually a nicer location, though a bit older than the Hyatt)

So then that day around 6 PM, after I had checked into the other hotel, Hyatt called me and said "oh we have a room, you can come back." I told them I had already checked into the other hotel, so what do they want me to do? They told me to just stay there and contact them directly next time I am in the area.

Overall I was perfectly happy with my "walked" experience.

Had I arrived at the hotel at Midnight, I may not have been so happy.
