As a follow up to my stay on 25 May, the night credit and points still have not posted to my WoH account. I submitted a Missing Stay Credit Request, and the automated response was that the rate I booked was not eligible for stay credit. Obviously, that was an error, since I had booked the MEMBER RATE directly on hyatt.com. So, I resubmitted the Missing Stay Credit Request with an added explanation, and the automated response was the same. Quite stupid.
I have since communicated directly with WoH Customer Service in China, and they have found out that the credit to my WoH account was rejected because the pinyin translation of my name on my MTP did not match exactly with the spelling of my name on my WoH account. Customer Service is handling this manually.
I had booked a second stay at this hotel this past weekend, and have the following to add:
- Received an upgrade to a suite again. Check-in staff confirmed that standard hotel policy is to upgrade Globalists to a suite whenever possible.
- Hotel automatically arrange 4:00pm checkout without my prompting.
- The Executive Benefit of evening cocktail is nothing to get excited about. It is served in the Lobby Lounge/Bookstore. Cold dishes were two, buffet style: (1) marinated wood ear and (2) shredded chicken. I chose the hand-made wonton, which was very good. The cookies, snacks, and fruit were also placed on the buffet counter.
- The breakfast was predominantly Chinese cuisine. Eggs and noodles were made to order from the counter. I would say that the breakfast quality is slightly better than an Asian Hyatt Place or UrCove. Upon being seated, I was served a cup of Chinese tea. The only utensils on the table were chopsticks, and I could not see knives and forks anywhere.
- My checkout just happened to be processed by the Front Office Supervisor, who was also aware with the issues of my first stay crediting to WoH. She explained the same issue/reason to me, and promised that she would ensure both stays credit appropriately.
