I like Hyatt but an analysis of the milestones does not give you the full picture. The bonus points for globalists are weak compared to the other chains (most of which grant double points for top tier). Hyatt's promos are also among the weakest in the industry with just two global, non-targeted promos per year.
Yeah, milestones, lifetime status, and better recognition in the US as compared to the other chains are key to their value proposition. But given Hyatt's poor footprint outside the US, I think those of us travelling a a good amount outside North America cannot solely rely on Hyatt. Consequently, for me personally, these Hyatt vs. Marriott, Hyatt vs. Hilton, or Hyatt vs. IHG comparisons are meaningless as Hyatt without anything else cannot get the job done.
