I wouldn't book that far ahead for completely different reasons. If you book now for travel in early 2006 there will be two timetable changes between now and the date of travel (April and October). The perfect connections you booked this year won't necessarily be perfect connections in 12 months' time. I've got caught out with just one timetable change in between the date of booking and the date of travel...
I think it makes sense to buy such a ticket, considering that you might secure a super deal....
I wouldn't mind too much the timetalbe changes, as they agreed to fly you from A to B at a given date for a given price. You have a considerable word to say if they rebook you on an insane route. Also, you can always have them endorse the ticket to some other airlines on the 1 year ticktes...
