A good news story to share from CPH yesterday.

I arrived very early for a 12.00 flight to ARN and then a connection to UME. Parked myself upstairs at the lounge and was able to get a couple of hours’ work done.

At 10.15, realised I’d left a gift for my wife in my hotel room (Scandic Webers on Vesterbrogade). A unique thing, not replicable and worth a lot to me.

Downstairs at the desks just inside the lounge, I spoke to one of the SAS colleagues - Lis or Elise, *I’m sorry for forgetting her name. I could have just used my EBD benefit for a free same day change and got home later, but it was a klämdag between Ascension Day and the weekend so the only choice left for ARN-UME was my original 15.30 arrival or 22.50.

She flagged my check bag as a hold and encouraged me to go. I still had a couple of hours validity on my DOT pass so we able to use the train. With a bit of running through the airport and København H, made it back to the hotel by 10.45 and then back to the train by 11.00. The staff at Webers were also helpful and proactive, and had the item ready for me at reception.

On return to CPH, was happy to learn that Lis* had called Fast Track so they knew to expect my boarding pass trying to pass security for the second time. She had also gone directly to the gate and was on hand to release the checked bag back into the loading process.

All-in-all - a disaster was averted. (And Mrs OnTheRoad loves the gift). Thank you Lis and sorry for misremembering your name.
