I did check this, and it would be nearly 800,000 miles from PHX, versus the 60k per person Amex points that I paid, so pretty substantial difference. I don't have nearly enough points to do that if I wanted to, and obviously it wouldn't make much sense.

Good suggestion though, it was worth looking at.
