Whilst we're in hoovering up miles mode, don't forget that UK members can get 2,500 BA Miles by signing up for the free Intercon / Holiday Inn Priority Club visa card. See my recent thread on this.

I'm also about to become possibly the first person, judging from FT, to jump through all the hoops required to open a NatWest Advantage offshore account. (Yes, I have found a 'director of a regulated financial services business' to certify the colour photocopy of my full passport!). The interest rate on this account is shockingly bad, but my view is that you make the initial deposit, get the first chunk of miles, take out most of the money and put it back in a decent bank and then, in 11 months time, move it back to hit the minimum balance target to get the second chunk of miles. Net cost (including interest foregone and the admin fees) is about £600 for 50,000 miles. Not as good as Travelex but certainly not bad.
