Have offers ever been given <48 hours after booking or is it always >48 hours? Am looking at a RT USA-LHR ticket showing 9 in every J and Y fare bucket. BA award seats available in business both directions. Cash fare for Y is $1300, W $5200 (only W class available) and J $7300. I am assuming that buying Y and upgrading with a POUG offer would be cheaper than buying J outright. I am hoping to buy the Y ticket and see what the offers are and then cancel the ticket with the 24 hour refund policy if there are no offers (or buying J ends up being cheaper?) Thanks!
You won’t get an offer in less than 24 hours for this exact reason. I’m not sure if 48 is a firm cutoff, but it doesn’t really matter does it? If you get an offer you don’t like at 30 hours, then you still can’t cancel unless it’s a fully flexible refundable ticket.
