Just back from a great trip to Greece. The flight home got messed up because of a cancelation in Argentina, leading to a late inbound aircraft. That meant no Delta One Suite for me, but the reroute through JFK got me into the wonderful Delta One lounge at JFK. That shower, massage chair and a la carte dining was an incredible experience. Onto the meals:

MSP-AMS
Delta One
A330-300

The crew was short-handed (usually flies with 10 FAs, but storms in MSP on our departure day meant that between FAs who couldn't make it and FAs stolen to make other crews whole, there were just 7, one above the FAA minimum) and served everyone with the express service. That was fine because I was hoping to sleep most of the way. I've flown the old A333s in D1 a handful of times and they're definitely showing their age. Also, no new Missoni bedding yet, which was a bummer. But all the same, I slept about 4.5 hours of the 8 hour flight.

Pre-ordered the Jon and Vinny's meatballs, which I've heard a lot about, but never had.

I hate cauliflower, but the cauliflower soup was good. The roll was warmish. The burrata was good. Shrimp was nice. Meatballs were, of course, the main event and quite good. Though burrata in the main and the salad was a little weird.

The arrival meal, I chose the pastry duo and was pleasantly surprised how good it was.

Spinach for the savory, chocolate for the sweet. The fruit was ... fine.

ATH-JFK
Delta One
A330-300

The return was supposed to be ATH-BOS on an A339, but wound up being ATH-JFK on an A333. Bit of a bummer to not get to try out the suite. Crew was good. Drink was kept full without asking. I had pre-ordered the short rib, though of course lost that with the last minute (and I mean last minute — including a Delta escort through outbound immigration, security and to the gate) switch to the JFK flight. Fortunately it was no problem getting a short rib from the day-of selection.

The starters came first. I think were it me I would encourage Delta to ditch the trays for those not choosing express service. Just seems a little cafeteria like. Thai soup was excellent. Salad was ... fine. Bread was hard, but warm enough. Salmon I could not eat.

Short rib was good, as were the potatoes.
The arrival meal was the burger. I forgot to take a picture but it was tasty. The bun a bit over crisped and the burger VERY hot, but everything about it tasted good.

We got off the plane and were through JFK immigration and customs in about 90 seconds with Global Entry. The line for MPC and regular US passports was much, much longer. So that was a win. We went up to the lobby at T4 and then used the D1 checkin to go through security and straight into the lounge. That's such a slick service.

There was a further leg to MSP but by that time I'd had two burgers and two steaks in a single afternoon so I elected to skip that meal and sleep the whole way back. It was a great trip, but there's no place like home.
