We're talking about two separate -- but related -- issues:

1. How many points per dollar charged will a particular credit card earn? The answer to that depends not only on the card, but how one uses that card. Yes, the CSP and CSR have some bonus categories, but there are a lot of purchases one can make with those cards which will only earn one point/dollar.

2. What kind of redemption value per point can one get from credit-card points? That, too, wil depend on how one redeems the points.

Edited to add: I'll just note here that if one opts to have either the CSP or the CSR Visa, it's a good idea to pair that card with the no-annual-fee Chase Freedom Flex, which qualifies for Chase's quarterly 5X points bonus categories. (This quarter, it's Amazon purchases and streaming services. In addition, for June only, there's an additional bonus category of utilities.) Points earned on the Freedom Flex -- or on the original Freedom card, if one still has that -- can be transferred to one of the Sapphire cards, and then converted to airline miles or hotel points; or used to purchase travel through the Chase travel portal at the enhanced redemption rates offered by the Sapphire cards.
