If you convert credit-card points (not miles) to a hotel or airline partner program, the value of the points so converted can vary widely depending on the particular redemption you make; if you use Chase UR points to purchase travel through the credit card's travel portal, the point value will be much less than the figures you posted. Not sure about the value of using Platinum MR points via Amex's travel portal, although the Platinum card gives you access to Amex's International Airline Program, which can result in additional savings on premium-cabin tickets.
