I do this all the time actually as I open so many credit cards
I just tried dealing with this issue for two Hyatt Place Chase offers. I get that each property supposedly chooses their policies but it aggravates me that the Hyatt website claims you get charged the deposit immediately and then I find out that you don't at certain properties...
I have two different experiences with the prepaid deposit.
Fortunately, on the Hyatt Silverton Village stay(other location in LAS), they charged my card the next day after I made the reservation for the prepayment non-refundable deposit.
I was hoping the Hyatt Place Las Vegas would do the same for my charge on my CSR also with the 7% Chase offers. They didn't charge it and I called today as the Chase offers expires May 31. The guy that answered told me they don't process the charge until two days prior. I explained I wanted it now for a Chase offer and he transferred me to reservations. The lady there could barely speak English but eventually said I had to talk to the actual property.
I got transferred back there. I should have chose general manager but spoke to same guy who I think is the front desk and he claimed he spoke to general manager and they can't charge my card early.
At least I didn't forgot my 3% on this card for the chase offer as I did on the Freedom (which fortunately got processed early).
