Tagging a buggy always seems to take quite a long time. A lot of button tapping and then more often than not a search for an orange tag. The family check in at T5 does help segregate all of this, and I wonder if opening up a small area for this at Gatwick in the school holidays only might make things run more efficiently for everyone.
