Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
In general yes

I needed a hotel due an early flight out of BNA. I did not spent much time in the hotel.

I checked in at 15:00 and only one agent was available. She was checking in another guest, so I had to wait. As it was my turn, she began to check me in but also took a call while checking me in. There was not much talking possible. So I did not get any information about room upgrade and was not asked about preferences. I received my key and she made a gesture, that I could go. But since I had some question, I waited till she had finished her call (there was no one else with the intention to check in).

I than inquired about the shuttle to the airport, breakfast time, pool and fitness centre. The shuttle leaves every 30 minutes (.00 and .30). Pool was closed and fitness was 24/7. Only as I asked about points or amenity, she realized, that I was Diamond and told me there was IHG One Rewards Week and thus OI received some candy and two additional bottles of water.

The lobby of the hotels is small and opens in the central located breakfast area. There is a variety of chairs and tables in different arrangements. There seems to be only one elevator. Waiting times could occur during busier times to reach the floor.

Breakfast is the usual Holiday In Express affair with burgers, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, fruit, yoghurt, bagels. Plastic Cutlery and paper plates.

Given the proximity to the airport, the shuttle ride was only five minutes.


Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

I had booked a room with a kings and received a slightly larger room with a Sofa Bed.


How are the rooms?

The room was large but dark as there is only one small window which does not get much sun given the layout of the hotel. The hotel is built around a courtyard and the room in the corner are blocked by walls from other rooms.

Some rooms have baclonies, this are brighter (but some balconies overllok the parking or courtyard)

After entering the room, the bathroom was to the left. It was of average size with bath, sink and toilet. Water pressure was okay. There was enough space to store utensils. Shampoo, Lotion, etc were wall mounted and by Dove. Two Towels in medium and large size were provided.

Opposite the entrance to the bath was the open closet. It also featured a safe, which was locked. The safe is large enough for storing a laptop.


The room consists of a king beds, a large TV above the desk with a sideboard. Three other power outlets were available as well.

A sofa was located between desk and window.

The mattress was okay.

Air condition was available. It was controlled automatically, and the noise was okay.

The design of the room was typical for a Holiday Inn Express.

Sound proofing was okay, there was not that much noise from both hallways and other rooms; but it might have helped that it was quite a bit to walk to the elevator. I did not spent much time in the room.

The location is good.

It is an average HIX and you will most likely not spend much time there. Rooms are large, though some are a bit dark. I will return, if I only need a night close to the airport for an early morning departure, not for a longer stay. There is not much to do around the hotel.

Due to construction work, there are traffic jams and driving to downtown Nashville can take some time.
