Flew this last week

Row 1 seems to have the same pitch as the other rows. The advantage/disadvantage depending on your personal preference is there is (obviously) no seat in front - nowhere to put your bags/legs under, but then again nobody to recline in front of you

Do be careful about 1A, 1K - the fuselage of the A332 tapers in slightly so you will lose some elbow room

1E however is an Aisle, not a centre seat (while 2E, 3E etc are centre) as there is no 1D as thsi would obstruct the door (tells you something about QF's high density J class layout on this type!). Sometimes you can pick this seat up otherwise row 1 is mostly preallocated to CL and occasional WP

J in general is now very busy on the afternoon flight PER-SYD QF566, mostly sold out with revenue pax so harder than ever to get a upgrade (last week in the PER QP they had a stack of Y boarding passes with "Paid J" written on them waiting in case the waitlist cleared through no shows) - used to be much easier when there was a 1.35pm flight as well as the 3.25 to Sydney (which disappeared when the A332 replaced the 763 which used to operate the 566 flight). Its easier the other way for some reason and also on the red eye.
