Hi.
I think I know the answer 😒 but I thought I’d ask.
I booked an economy basic (HBO) fare. A few days later I added a checked luggage to the booking.
Now it looks like that I’ll need to check another suitcase as i have quite a lot of liquids > 100ml to transport.
Technically it shouldn’t be a problem since I’m allowed an extra luggage as being a BAC Gold member.
However I found this on the BA site:
“Gold British Airways Club, oneworld Emerald or AerClub Concierge members:
Your baggage allowance for you and those travelling on your booking reference in any travel cabin:
- 1 additional checked bag up to 32kg (70lb). Up to 32 kg (70lb) per checked bag
- This does not apply on a Basic fare, where there is no baggage allowance in any cabin.”
So I assume that I can’t check a second luggage in for free as part of my Gold allowance.
Is that correct? If so do you think the check in agent might close an eye on this?
Finally, assuming I can’t check it in for free, as I’ll go through the first wing, I can carry as my filled liquid containers as long as they are not > 2 litres?
Thanks
