So it sounds like I can at least go through security and back to the gate area after arrival rather than wait until check-in (assuming BA can issue my boarding pass or that I can get it online). Will definitely keep my boarding pass from the MCO-LGW flight and see if that means anything to BA in terms of lounge access.
I've read that there might be a time restriction on getting through security (i.e. x hours prior to departure), but I recently transited through LGW on a GLA-LGW-TNS itinerary with just over 5 hours connection time and had no issue getting through.
