Japan/China are often considered separately when discussing travel.

In Southeast Asia properties tend to be far more generous. Not just in terms of upgrades, but also throwing in free (massive) breakfast buffets when not required to, etc.

Tokyo not so much from what I’m reading here, and China high variance depending on the brand/property.
