If separate tickets but no checked bags (since you say all bags to be checked through on your wife's ticket), then yes, I would have no qualms over this. This is a non-Schengen to non-Schengen transfer entirely within T4S, and even if you don't have your boarding passes for the MAD-DUB flight before you board, there's a desk right before transfer security.
