I'm still absolutely dumbfounded by people who want the meal service to take longer, but I at least understand that it IS a preference and I've accepted the fact that there are some mysteries of the universe I'll never understand, but I can't imagine ANY scenario where I give any concern whatsoever to what the FA says to me when delivering the food. Honestly I think silent service is preferable, I don't feel any pressure to engage in small talk to be polite or have to remove my ear buds to hear what they're saying and then find out it's just some meaningless pleasantries.
