It's a great property. I am glad I stayed there in 2018. If they are not following terms and conditions, we take action. I did that against the Sheraton Grand Seattle and won. Marriott agreed with me that the property wasn't honoring the breakfast benefit. The hotel didn't care. Marriott gave me 40,000 points to forget about the issue this time basically. I accepted. It hurt Marriott directly, and maybe that will mean they enforce the terms. If not, next time I will get the $100 or another 40,000 points. If a property follows the terms, but the benefits are weak, we can accept that or go elsewhere. It's that simple. I make my case public to be sure others know. If I really wanted to stay at the property, I would call them and ask nicely for a change in benefit. If they refused--and I still wanted to stay--I would just go and make the situation known in person. Management staff can hear then in person that my family can't eat there because the selection available is medically contraindicated for us and isn't considerate. That's really all I can do.
Once they remodeled this property all benefits went out the door and that's sad. One only has to look at Marriott's CEO who is the root cause of our losses when he in a speech that we Marriott FF give the franchise owners a "break" defaulting his support to them. Hilton has better treatment of its travelers let alone Hyatt really takes care of it travelers. We all know "Marriott lurker " skims through all these posts shame is nothing happens. Frankly going away from Marriott is the only way changes will happen or a recession where Marriotts beloved franchise owners will have to work !
