Yeah, corporate AmEx cards aren't at all the same as business AmEx cards and in fact, different companies can have very different rules for corporate cards, such as whether they may be used for personal expenses and whether the individual or the corporation has primary responsibility for paying the bill, although IME the employer sees the bill in either case. {Do you want your employer to be able to see information on your personal expenditures? If this means that you must maintain a personal AmEx card, what's the point of having a (free) corporate card too unless you're required to put business expenses on the corporate card. It's just one more card to monitor and pay on time. OTOH, if you don't otherwise qualify for a personal AmEx card, it can be easier to get a corporate card without a credit history.}
