If you are in downtown Copenhagen, why would you take a taxi? The metro to the airport is faster and much cheaper, even if you are 2 persons. So try to see if you are close to a metro line station before deciding for a taxi.
In general, in Denmark and Germany, public transport rules and everyone use it (as opposed to in the US).
I often do take a taxi. Main reason would be luggage. As a small point of annoyance on Copenhagen public transport, station designers have an affinity for covering the space in front of the entrances with cobblestones or other quite uneven surfaces which is rather annoying with rolling luggage.
