Hi Folks,

I will be travelling after almost 10 years on Etihad from Chennai, India to Lisbon in June. I am travelling with my wife and two teenagers. Etihad has advanced the ETD for the AUH-LIS flight from 02:00 to 01:40. The STA for my flight from Chennai to AUH is 00:40. I had two queries for the seasoned EY travellers.

1. Is a 1 hour transit sufficient between the 2 flights, assuming my MAA-AUH flight is on time? As of now, the arrival and departure are both from Terminal A
2. More importantly, will my bags make it in that 1 hour period? This is the deal breaker for me since I land in Lisbon and head straight to the Algarve, 3 hours away. It's not going to be possible to pick up my bags the following day from Lisbon. God forbid.

I tried changing to an earlier flight from Chennai, which would have given me ample time, but only 3 seats were available, with a fare difference of almost USD1500 per ticket.

Thanks in advance for any information or experience you might have had on a short transit through AUH.
