that then also explains the case mentioned where somebody could not change a flight, where there were no earlier flights and the next flight would’ve been within 14 hours, but on the next day. He couldn’t change, which, after your confirmation that flights have to take off before midnight on the same day of departure as the original flight, seems to be right.
