Skimming AC.com (
https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/...by-zone.html#/), it seems the wording has been tightened up since I last cared to look... This gate practice is fully compliant with AC.com. I was able to use zone 1. There is no promise it remains dedicated after priority boarding has "completed"
I turned left at end of jet bridge, the others turned right. Flight pushed back early and I got home early.

You and I apparently have a very different definition of "dedicated lanes".
What you described was not dedicated.
