Other pooling programs have been abused by mileage brokers or those using pools for activities outside of what UA considers appropriate use. UA's use model lends more to having the miles in place in advance.
I guess with proper planning for a family, it could make a lot of sense. Just wish they’d open it to partner awards. Then it would open up more space.
