IAG have remained quite tight-lipped on this but will probably have to declare their intentions now 737max production is ramping up. Ending up with a mixed fleet of A320s and 737s would massively bump up the operating costs of Vueling. If you go back to EasyJet and their order for A320s. They quickly took delivery of enough to get rid of all 737s.
i think IAG will exercise options for Vueling to become a full 737max operation and the newer A320/321s will be dispersed to EI/IB and BA/BA EF to bring average age of fleet down.
There are inadequate numbers of A320/321s on order to replace old aircraft so I’m struggling to see any other options.
737max production is now ramping up!
