  • passport has at least 3 months validity from the departure from greece - well this would have to be a validity date of 1 october 2025 or later (expected departure date is 1 june 2025). the normal 10 year expiry date would be 6 august 2025, but the passport is actually valid until 6 december 2025. so for the purposes of this point, does greece/eu/schengen recognise the "extra" validity given beyond the 10 years?
    • post 6 suggests they do, in which case the denial was incorrect;
    • if they do not recognise the "extra" validity beyond 10 years, then the denial was correct.
The two tests are separate. So:

is passport valid on arrival? = yes

will there still be three or more months of validity on return? = yes since return is June 1st and passport has December expiry

The two requirements often get conflated but that's now what should happen
