I don't see anything recent posting on this, and I don't know if our experiences are unusual... but Morocco seems to have a problem with tourist crime. Participants in the London-Marakesh race have reported being mugged in Marahesh, and I fell victim to a tourist scam at the border crossing from Ceuta to Fnideq. See the linked thread post 103 for more details on what my experience was. I don't know if we collectively had isolated experiences or if this is indicative of more significant issues.
