You're correct that for AL Lounge members it states that guests must have a valid boarding pass for a flight with a qualifying airline, but for AC members no such requirement is stated. Not sure if that's intentional (no such requirement applies to guests of AC members) or an oversight (requirement does apply but was not stated explicitly).
it would be nice to know for certain before I buy airline tickets and rent a car and spend three hours driving the girls up there lol.

Is there an address I could email the question to thus having an answer in writing?

I mean the policy pretty clearly does not require the guests have a flight on any particular airline. It would be hard to argue otherwise if the policy does not state that.
