At what point is a CR2 considered to be removed from the fleet? Some of the "parked" frames have been in TUS for over two years. Interesting that repaints continue when there are parked repaints. I suppose this could be related to bigger required maintenance checks that could be done if the frame was needed.
Ive been considering removed from the fleet when that frame is no longer listed as part of the UAX service internally at SkyWest. OO rotates frames as they go in and out of maintenance. There have been plenty of units parked at TUS for 2-3 years coming back to service as another goes to TUS. The total number on the OO CPA is 50 CR2s right now, but they use an additional 25-30 for prorate flying, and specific units go on and off that list fairly frequently. As the drawdown occurs (fingers crossed in 2026) it will be easier to see.
