When you say "the nicer domestic widebodies", I assume you meant narrowbodies?

Not trying to pile on, but demand is radically different. ANC total domestic passengers is ~200k per month (6500/day). HNL is ~700k per month (23k/day). Airlines can more easily fill wide bodies at that level of demand, even with lots of airlines flying from CONUS to either airport. And, to be fair, the narrow bodies being used for ANC are at the high end of most fleets (big 737s, A321s, etc).
