Since the price for two nights dropped to within £30 compared to the day use plus one night, I decided to rebook for the night before for the additional night credit and guaranteed availability in case the flight got in early, which it did. The hotel upgraded me to this room with 3 beds when I had originally booked a queen room. I was too tired to take extensive photos upon arrival, but I took this photo upon departure:

The breakfast offering was pretty good, and it wasn't crowded either day I was there.

I walked from T2 via the station and then on the pavement (or sidewalk as I'd say ) down to the crosswalk past the DoubleTree. I had too much luggage to risk playing Frogger, and I recently had surgery and don't entirely trust myself yet to make the jog across the main lanes of traffic without tripping. I did see multiple people successfully dart across the road during my walk, however. The next morning I elected to use the third party shuttle bus service (from the Car Park People), which is £3.60 and bookable online to get to T3. If I didn't have the amount of luggage that I did and the weather was decent, I wouldn't have minded the morning walk to the terminal.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions and tips prior to my stay! I will be back in a week.
