You have to remember that miles are worth different values and the earnings rates aren’t the same either. Skymiles have been worth less than AA and UA miles as long as I can remember. They have always thrown miles at people at a much higher rate. I haven’t kept up with the value comparisons since they have all transitioned their programs over the past ~10 years or so.
