Problem with AA is you never know what the crew is going to be like, and whether they will just blatantly disregard service standards. I have been in Y on premium transcons JFK-LAX (where the second beverage service was never cut, but this was even before the recent cuts in case there was some confusion by the FAs), where the FAs did a mid-flight water run and then just never did the second service (and no turbulence).
