I do switch from STEALTH to OPEN for certain things (my email client doesn't like Stealth, for instance).
I use a VPN in China close to 100% of the time, and canceled all the other services and only have A nowadays. Definitely a silver/magic bullet to me...
Don't you see the contradiction in the two highlighted sections of your post?
Any sort of outage is unacceptable, period. And if I do use a VPN from my office or home (I usually don't, but during the few times I do), I almost
never have these sorts of annoying, intermittent outages.
When you're watching live streams, you can't just resume watching from where you left off and "catch up" because you'll never actually catch up. And these live streams are often interactive, with viewers interacting with the streamers so you can't just watch it delayed by 2-5 minutes. When you miss something, you generally just have to skip to the present and resume from there. When I watch YT live streams from home, VPN or no VPN, I can generally watch continuously from start to finish. However A was not providing an acceptable quality of service the last time I was in the PRC and having to restart the VPN or connect to a different endpoint every 20-30 minutes just isn't acceptable. You end up missing stuff that you can't go back and watch and stay interactive with everyone else on the chat.
