People have different approaches / perspectives of course.

But I'd rather they made it more attractive for the general public to redeem in economy class. Making Y non-refundable makes W and J awards even more desirable (and hard to find).

I would assume that the next step would be a crushing devaluation of J award pricing, although we can always dream of that award space simply being reserved for IB elites...
