I stayed here for a night last night. Didn't hate it, but it's really not at all close to the airport if you're going in and out of T4.
Pros:
- Upgraded in advance to one of the corner premium suites
- Minibar was stocked with drinks (free)
- Welcome amenity of some kind of cookie
- This made 5 stays in a row where I've posted a review of the property before ElevatorEnthusiast
- Really good executive lounge with a solid spread until 10pm and wine/beer/cava until 10:30. Delightful service, too.
Cons:
- OMG the location is infuriating. On the map it looks so close to the airport. But it was 16 minutes by taxi from T4 (and €27.20 -- it's more than 9km so you start adding on top of the €22 base fare that otherwise applies to destinations outside the M-30). I didn't want to wait for the shuttle.
- I took the shuttle in the morning, but T4 is the last stop, so it took 26 minutes. Absurd.
- The nice restaurant, Kalma, is listed on Google as closing at 12, but really it closes at 11... and when I went down at 10:32 to get dinner, I was looked at with curiosity and told they were closing in 15 minutes. Totally bizarre given that families go out for dinner at 11, but whatever. I went to Champions (open until 1) and had some of the worst (clearly frozen/reheated) calamari I've ever had.
- The pool was closed May 19-22, no notice was provided, and no apology was given when I asked about it.
- Bed is the stupid two-twin thing.
- Shower pressure was terrible.
I didn't try breakfast because I was scrambling to make the 7:15am shuttle. Thankfully the IB lounge at T4 actually has decent scrambled eggs and croissants on the buffet.
