Spent 3 nights here this weekend - overall liked the property. It feels relatively new and the quality is what you'd expect for a 4-star hotel. There was a King Suite available for a SUA during the weekend I was visiting to applied the award for the suite. The property was quite full over the weekend so received a room on the 4th floor, but never had any problem with noise. There was a nice welcome amenity of maple cookies and housekeeping left daily 2-water bottles and gave me the 4 pm late checkout pro-actively. I worked remote here and had no issues with WiFi speeds with multiple video call meetings.
Breakfast was only a buffet, but despite having a menu online it was a buffet for all guests including those paying out of pocket so I wouldn't say it was a Globalist-specific downgrade. It was nothing remarkable, but higher quality than a Hyatt Place / Fairfield Inn type of breakfast. For instance there was no smoked salmon or made to order quality egg dishes, but there were a few types of green juice / fruit smoothies, blueberries, etc. I would note that they have a nice rooftop pool / patio with great views. I think this area will become a very nice spot to be in ~5 years as there's a lot of new construction in the area, but for now it's still in development.
The location is not far walking distance (~5-10 minutes) from Old Port which has plenty of bars / restaurants (recommend Wolf & Workman) and a 10-minute walk from the Metro station and some spots of interest like Bonsecours Market, SAT (for EDM nightlife, etc.), but IMO the best neighborhoods and food in Montreal is the Mount Royal and Mile-End / Little Portugal / Little Italy Area which will require the metro / uber which means a ~20 minute journey.
Overall would stay here again and nice to have a decent option albeit in Montreal
