Is this your first time in Kyoto? HP Kyoto is new so it's nice and great value. I often manage to book it for $100ish a night cash, so I don't use points. The room is pretty small, but at that price you really can't complain. If you plan on being out for a majority of the day, I would book HP and just save the points.
Thank you, I am sorry to do my responses separately but as I mentioned above the room rate is over $400 USD per night for my dates. If I could have booked it for $100 I'd have done it and not looked back.
It's likely we will be out a good part of the day, but we typically find ourselves in the room for quite a few hours each evening. It will be our second time in Kyoto, but we still have many things we've yet to see or do so I expect we'll be out a lot. We won't be there for as long this time, though, so who knows.
