This is not correct.

There is the "Lingotto" metro station right in front of the large building that used to be the FIAT Lingotto plant (the one with the racing track on the roof) from where you can reach the Doubletree in less than 5 minutes on foot (or even sooner by passing through the shopping center), an easy walk that I have done several times, even with luggage in tow.

The metro connects the Porta Nuova railway station, which is 6 stops away, and the Porta Susa station, 9 stops away (Porta Susa station is also the one from where trains to the airport depart). Those mentioned are the two main train stations in Turin, on the most important lines and with high-speed service.

Also near the hotel, in Via Nizza coming from the center and in Via Genova going towards the center, at least 5 bus lines pass (including bus 18 towards Turin Lingotto railway station), and others are a little further away. It doesn't seem to me to be the case that one can say that this property is without any convenient "connection" via public transit; on the contrary, I find it to be one of the hotels in Turin best connected by public transport.
And even if you arrive from the airport late at night, when the metro is not in service, there are replacement buses on the same route.

The Torino Lingotto train station is a little more than two km away, but I find it useless to go to that secondary station, unless you have to go towards Genoa or Liguria. In any case, from the Torino Lingotto station there are always trains going to the two stations mentioned above, from which you change to the metro.
