Would be a nice case of IDB.
Do not blame them, the airlines only follow government mood and regulation. I had one way Yyz-Edi flying back on separate airline/ticket from Bgo, and check-in staff would only issue BPs after I showed my return flight. Same with my one way Lgw-Trd, both check-in and Norway immigration wanted proof of my outward journey. All that to say, even booking a refundable tix just to show you’re leaving would save you soooo much stress.
